VIIRS images

VIIRS images are received from the polar SUOMI-NPP satellite. A short guide about the VIIRS imagery data can be found here

The raw image data of a VIIRS image. The “pixel-trim” fill values can be seen as dark blue lines.

When selecting ‘True Colors’ the program will select Band 3, 4 and 5. After clicking ‘Show VIIRS image’ the ‘True Color’ image will be rendered.

After a GV Projection, the VIIRS image can be viewed without the “pixel-trim” pixels.
